Toulouse Business School’s Management Research Centre (MRC), a privileged partner for your management innovations
The MRC is a partner for companies and organizations wishing to innovate in their managerial activities.
For the last 10 years, the MRC has been developing research on the major managerial functions of companies, combining scientific quality with innovation for the benefit of businesses and, more widely speaking, our whole society.
Since 2000, when the Management Research Centre was created, 40 research contracts have been signed with and for companies, with the support of public funds. The MRC is ranked among the top major management schools in France in terms of the relationship between research and companies.
The framework for collaboration is determined by the researchers for the scientific aspect, and by the Research Department for the financial, legal and intellectual property aspects.

Collaborative research agreements, service contracts (short-term with results-based commitments), doctoral theses, etc.
| I need ... | The right tool | Specifics |
| ... to have the MRC carry out a state-of-the art study on certain subjects for my company | A service contract |
- No research activity |
| … to perform basic or finalized research with the MRC | A collaborative agreement |
- Research activity |
| … to employ a doctoral student for 3 years | A Training Through Research Industrial Agreement (CIFRE) |
- The doctoral student works in the laboratory and in the company |
| … to discuss a possible research collaboration or service with researchers | A secrecy or confidentiality agreement | - Joint ownership of results - Binds the MRC, so everyone who works on the subject of the agreement is required to maintain secrecy - The agreement must only cover secrecy: any other subject (ownership of results, operations, etc.) must be covered by another contract |
| … the expertise and advice of a researcher | Consultancy | - This is a purely intellectual and scientific personal service that must not use the laboratory’s resources. |
A few organizational and legal issues

Legally it is under the responsibility of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Toulouse (CCIT), which is a French public administrative institution. The MRC is therefore a research laboratory with public status.
Only the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Toulouse is authorized to commit expenditure and responsibility for actions carried out by the MRC.
The Research Department is the contact point for all types of public or private partnerships.
